living up to a slogan
ever wonder if a company really lives up to their slogan? may it be a large retail store or a private company?
may the slogan be for the consumers or employee, do they really mean what they say or are these only empty words just to entice people to patronize a product or to encourage an applicant? is it ethical for a company to say such things? what if the company really meant what they say but the people, like the supervisors who should implement it are the ones who fail to see the company's good intention to small employees? i am not saying that all companies are unethical because the pressing issue here is living up to the expectations that a company claims they would do to employees and vice versa. are the supervisors just power tripping just for fun? coercing small employees simply because they don't like the newbies just because the stats of a team is affected. what if a supervisor told you that they will give you a month to adjust but then they keep on nagging about your performance? even if you are trying your best to blend in to the team but your supervisor still thinks you are an outcast? i understand where the supervisor is coming from but is the relationship only one sided or a two way relationship. are they really listening to what you have to say or are they just generalizing that all small employees are the same, lazy and always making excuses. they would ask for a commitment but are they also committed to you? at the end of the day, do you feel like you have made an accomplishment or you're still a failure in the eyes of your immediate supervisor? are you happy with this kind of treatment? does the company know that this is happening? its ok to be strict in every aspect but are they still abiding by the company policy or even your handbook if you do have one? in the end, its still the small employees specifically the newbies are the ones who suffer at the end of the day because they are somewhat demoralized by these scenarios because the people who should support you are the ones who bring you down. then what is the sense of boosting your morale if the one who is suppose to do that is the one who is pulling you down?
